Mary Jane Kelly - Our Streets Turn White    Bookmark and Share

Mary Jane Kelly - Our Streets Turn White artwork The future's so bright... I gotta wear shades!

Right out of the gate you realise that Mary Jane Kelly have something going in their favour just by not sounding like every other hardcore band out there. Big chunky riffs that actually demand your attention, clever arrangements and breakneck tempos all wrapped up in a top-shelf production, Our Streets Turn White is a quality release.

An atmospheric intro quickly gives way to Sinking Ships To Burning Cars which showcases the band's technical chops and strong songwriting ability. Mary Jane Kelly have a talent for wrapping up an abundance of ideas in a three minute track and still producing a cohesive song. Folding Seas And Lonely Deaths is even better while Worthwhile Overdose, with it's vicious delivery, is a personal favourite.

Our Streets Turn White and I Stabbed God In The Back round things out nicely. On the strength of this sterling E.P. the future looks bright for this Wollongong quartet.
